The Mun River originates south of Pak Chong in Nakhon Ratchasima Province near Khao Yai National Park and meanders for 750 km as the main artery of Thailand's northeast, before joining the Mekong) River at Khong Chiam. At the confluence of these two rivers, the color of the waters are vaguely different in hue thus Mae Nam Song Si or two colored river. The Mun River is sometimes spelled Moon River, from the famous Andy Williams song.
