Meghwal Girl, Kutch
Kutch is a large district in North-West Gujarat, with a population of only 2 million. It is inhabited by a variety of ethnic groups who have managed to preserve their traditions. Meghwal are the second biggest tribal people in Kutch. They are locally known as Harijan Marawadas, as they originally came from Marwad, Rajasthan. Their traditional occupation is weaving, embroidery and quilt making, as well as wood carving. They decorate their houses with beautiful mud work designs, mirror glass and paintings.
