Geological concretions, Moenkopi Dinosaur Tracks site near Tuba City, Arizona, United States.


These concretions have been removed from the surrounding sandstone and flipped. These were described to me as being dinosaur poo (coprolites) but they are completely normal iron concretions. A concretion is a hard, compact mass of matter formed by the precipitation of mineral cement within the spaces between particles, and is found in sedimentary rock or soil.
