This stirred up renewed interest in educational matters, andthe Institute organization was revived, resulting in the engagementof Prof. Carver as Principal. The location for a new building wasselected, and a contract made for the erection of the building, at acost of $15,000. The present Normal Auditorium is that L. B. Rupert was elected President of the Board of Trustees,and continued as such until 1873. Judge Elwell was then elected andhtld the until 1888, when he resigned, and William Neal waschosen to fill the vacancy, and was annually re-elected until [898 superseded him.
