Hill, the father of Frank A., wasborn in the state of Rhode Island and married Martha J. Dyer, a native ofMaine. He was a millman and cabinet-maker by vocation, having been theowner of a sawmill and a door and sash factory in Iowa, where he had takenup his residence about the year 1849.
