Great Blue Heron
Île Charron is one of many small islands in the St Lawrence river. Attention has been given to counteract the deterioration of riparian environments and preserve habitat required to maintain biodiversity. Like many pristine, natural environments amount Montreal, "condo developers" have their greedy eyes this land. Île Charron is home to many bird species including the Great Blue Heron and the Great White Egret. A short walk around the island usually involves encounters with a red fox, herons, egrets, goldfinches, deer and many other forms of wildlife
