Two 4-inch lines run through the cellar, one asanitary drain, the other a storm drain. Each 4-inch Hnehas an intercepting trap. On the sewer side of these traps. Fig. 52. the two lines are brought together, beyond which point thetwo front rain leaders connect; each of the two frontleaders is trapped separately. Fig. 49 differs from the preceding one in only two , the two front leaders are brought into the cellar andconnected into the storm drain on the house side of the STORM AND SANITARY DRAINAGE 93 intercepting trap. Second, the storm and sanitary drainsare connected on the outside of the building. Fig. 50 shows the same fixtures collected into a 4-inchhouse drain, and the rain leaders run entirely on the outsideof the building. This plan is a good one as all the stormwater is kept entirely outside the building. If the stormdrains are kept 5 feet away from the cellar walls (see Plumb-ing Code) the pipes can be of tile. Another good featureof this plan is that all the pipes under the cellar are 4-inch. Fig. 51 is similar to Fig. 46, the difference being in thelocation of the floor drain and the connection of the tworear rain leade
