A golden yellow hickory tree in the evening sun in a savanna-like setting epitomizes autumn.
This shag-bark hickory grows on our farm in an area we are managing for oak savanna due to the savanna indicator species found there. The sun was going down creating a wonderful golden light behind the brilliant tree.
