I- As a garden seat, perhaps the design could be improved byadding to it a light trellis roof, sloping from the straight con-necting rods above the arches, down to the wall or back of therecess; this roof might be covered by foliages, thus aflfordingprotection from the sun. In flower-gardens, it is usual to have an ornamental conserv-atory, and if it be so placed as to permit this kind of erectionon each side of it, forming ornamental approaches on its rightand left, a beautiful perspective continuity would result whenviewed through its length, and the front view would also beimproved by it.
