A memorial sculpture marks the site of the crowd stampede and crowd crush that killed 53 at the entrance to the Nemiga subway station on May 30, 1999 in Minsk, Belarus. The stampede during a rock concert was the worst disaster in rock history. Photos and words are scrawled in the subway entrance May of 2002 in rememberance of some of 53 who died. Most of the victims were women. (Photo by Jeremy Hogan)
