Tryon, one of the first missionaries sentto Texas, one of the most eminent men, the foremost preacherin the State, pastor of the Baptist Church in Houston, hadfallen a victim of yellow fever. Owing to the prominence of this man, the prominence ofthis pastorate, and the fact that it was one of the importantevents in Mr. Burlesons life, we deem it worthy of more thana passing notice, and will refer to it more fully in the Dr. Rufus C.
