SWITCHBOARD The switchboard is located between the differential boosterand the Valley Street wall in the motor-generator room. Theautomatic high-tension oil switches are arranged for remotecmtrol by levers passing beneath the floor of the transformerroom, and terminating in the walls, where projecting handles. INTERURBAN PASSENGER TRAIN where they pass into single-pole, single-throw General Electric27,500-volt automatic oil switches, encased in cells. Thencethey pass to the transformers. The secondaries of the trans-formers are connected to the induction motor generator set bya two-phase circuit of No. 2 copper wire, passing through adouble-pole, double-throw motor-starting switch, which startsthe induction motor by its connection with half-voltage taps on enable the switches to be operated by hand. The switchboardcontains one 2000-kw, 25,000-volt line panel, containing theoperating mechanism of the high-tension automatic oilswitches, voltmeter, time-limit relay, current and potentialtransformers and indicating lamps. There is also an inductionmotor panel containing an overload relay, operating levers forthe high-tension oil switches, current transformers and lamps, 654 STREET RAILWAY JOURNAL.
