Cook's tree boa, Corallus enydris cooki, found in South America; this specimen comes from the Caribbean island of Trinidad (1982). They are arboreal having an accordionlike climbing technique. The snake wraps the front of its body around a thin part of the tree trunk and then pulls itself higher, only to reanchor the body again and climb up a bit more. Its long powerful fore teeth enable tree boas to catch birds, which they snap at and then hold onto with these teeth; they also feed on bats.
