The giantess Gunlod was in charge of the Holy Mead, the drink of the gods. Gunlod is giving Odin the holy mead to drink.

I n Norse mythology, Odin was the ruler of Asgard, the home of the gods. The giantess Gunlod was in charge of the Holy Mead, the drink of the gods. After Odin heard that the being they had made human and sent to earth, Kvasir, had been slain by the dwarfs and his blood used to make the mead, Odin left Asgard to get the holy mead. Through trickery and the like, Odin managed to get to Gunlod and seduced her. She then granted him a sip of the holy mead. He did not swallow it but drained the vessels dry and brought all back to Asgard. In this 1905 illustration, Gunlod is giving Odin the holy mead to drink.
