During the time that the cabinet making shop was inoperation a considerable amoimt of installation and re-pair work was performed in different buildings, but, asthe instructor had left the school system before thework records were in the hands of the survey staflF, itwas impossible to ascertain to what extent the pupilshad participated in the various tasks. A large portion of the jobs enumerated in the shopreports are listed as repairs to building, repairs toequipment, repairs in shop, but their exact nature is. In addition to these occur the followingitems: Hanging fire extinguishers, window brackets,towel boxes, spring board for swimming tank, displaypanel, building blocks, Montessori sets, bases for lock-ers, encasing stairway, and, most important in point ofcharge value, thirty teachers desks. The cabinet making instructor was engaged aloneduring August, 1915, in work which included, amongother items, a sink at the Jefferson school, a steel ceilingat Jefferson school, and the installation of a new plumb-ing shop at Froebel school. The boys in the bench shop at the time of the surveyranged from the fourth grade to the eighth and from tento fifteen years of age. The classes were somewhatlarger than those met with in the other shops, numberingfrom 12 to 17, and totaling 86 individuals.
