A buoy sits griped to the deck of USCGC Mackinaw (WLBB 30) while the cutter approaches Chicago on Lake Michigan, Dec. 1, 2022. The buoy was pulled from Lake Michigan as part of Operation Fall Retrieve, an annual operation held by the Coast Guard on the Great Lakes.
