In a throw back to the 1950s and earlier, a barn is used for advertising in billboard fashion. During the days prior to the United States interstate highway system farmers were often paid to allow barns to be used to advertise products and services that could be easily seen by vehicles passing on rural, two-lane highways. This barn in rural Lanesville, Indiana was painted to replicate that vanishing era.
