An autopsy was held in First Dis- trict court here before Judge Austin, September 17, on the death of Frank Roberts, of Scekonk, whose death re- sulted from injuries received in that town when an automobile operated by Chatterton Warburton, florist of Fall River, ran over him August 14. Testi- mony was to the effect that Warburton had been driving his car along the road through Seekonk bound for this city at a fair rate of speed, when a Fall River car, approaching from the same direc- tion, started to slow down. Before it had stopped, Roberts jum cd from the running board and took two steps di- rectly in front of the oncoming auto- mobile. Warburton applied his brakes as promptly as possible and the car stopped in a remarkably brief time, although not before knocking down Roberts and passing over his body. He died twenty-two hours later. Moto'rman Herbert W. Hayes, who operated the trolley car; Chatterton Warburton, Mrs. , Mary Pecheco, sister of Roberts, and Mary Gallon were among those who witnessed the acci- dent and testified. Judge Austin will file his report within a week. Cairo, HI.—H. W. Cade is in charge of the store of his brother, H. H. Cade, while the latter is on a visit to his home at Ridgely, Md. South Euclid, O.—Hitchings & Co. are erecting three houses for Y. L. Severance here. The house to be used for palms is of a curvilinear type. Farkersburg, W. Va.—J. W. Dudley & Sous, who have a branch store in the Waldo building at Clarksburg, have obtained a charter under the name of the J. W. Dudley Sons Co. The com- pany is capitalized at $50,000 and all the stock has been subscribed and paid. The incorporators are: Brainard J. Dudley, Albert G. Dudley, Ernest Hiehle, Elizabeth Dudley, Hattie J.
