A Mossi ancestral figure, Burkina Faso Standing, female figure made from unpainted hardwood. High, crest-like hairstyle, stylised face, body with few geometrical tribal scars. Beautiful patina, in some places slightly cracked with traces of age and insect damage. Height without base 98 cm. The ancestral figures of the Mossi were positioned in front of fetish huts and were reserved for the tribal aristocracy.
