Vice Adm. Kevin Lunday, the Coast Guard Atlantic Area commander, oversees the Change of Watch ceremony for the area's incoming Command Master Chief. Command Master Chief Jeremy DeMello relieved CMC Devin Spencer of his watch in Portsmouth, Virginia, on June 6, 2022. The ceremony is rich in military history to allow subordinated to witness the formality of command change from one leader to another.
