This variety is the brightest colored of this tv]ie, being a rich carmine. 20 3829 Obconica oculata. A new selec- tion, having smoc th or fringed petals, but all with decided dark lilac or dark brown eyes. Like other high-C( lored varieties of this prim- rose, these develop their colors best when grown cool '20 3823 Forbes! {Baby Primrose'). This is the freest flowering primula we know of. The seed comes up-very readily, and the little plants throw up tiny flov.'er stalks when only a few weeks old. These, however, should be pinched cff, and the plants kept growing until October, when the flowers may be allowed to develop, and from then on until late in spring they produce their sprays of beauliful rosy lilac flowers in seemingly never-ending profusion. (See cut.) 25 3822 Floribunda. Of the same general character as Obconicn, differ- ing only in color of the flower, which is a lovely shade of yellow. 25 HARDY PRIMROSES. These are among the best of the early spring-blooming plants. With a slight protection they will stand the winter, but will do better if protected by a cold frame. 3821 Cortusoides Amcena {SiehoLii). Charming variety, blooming about Easter ; mixed colors 15 3825 Japonica {Japanese Primrose').
