Shock. Man in physiological and psychological shock after a traumatic incident such as a road or industrial accident. A blanket helps to keep the man warm. Physiological shock commonly accompanies injuries and is associated with low blood pressure. The reduction in blow flow throughout the body can lead to cold, clammy skin, dizziness, weakness and fainting. Psychological shock (post-traumatic stress disorder) may affect people who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic incident. It can lead to anxiety and depression. This anxiety can worsen the effect of physiological shock.
