Cuban sign, with the slogan 'Viva Cuba Libre', literally meaning "Long Live Free Cuba", a cry for free elections in the communist country long led by Fidel Castro, a cuban revolutionary and former lawyer who had originally run for the country's parliament in 1952. He took over power in 1959 and ruled Cuba up until 2008, three years before his death.
