Dubonnet quinine-flavored aperitif (1895). Known as the father of the modern poster, Jules Ch?ret (1836 ? 1932) was a French painter and lithographer. He worked on everything from theater to advertising. Here advertising the ap?ritif, Quinquina Dubonnet, Ch?ret has drawn on one of his compositional standbys: an attractive and fashionably dressed young woman holding a bottle of the advertised product.
