Omahuta Forest is one of the most impressive remaining Kauri forest in New Zealand. There stands the sixth largest Kauri tree.

Omahuta Forest is one of the most impressive remaining Kauri forest in New Zealand. Kauri is a coniferous tree of Araucariaceae in the genus Agathis native to the northern region of New Zealand's north island. Omahuta Sanctuary Walk offers a great opportunity to admire a magnificent part of this subtropical ecosystem. Most impressive is Hokianga which was in 2013 the sixth largest Kauri tree in the world.
