Crustacea of Devon and Cornwall, L,ondon 1906; a publication which I have not seen). In the cited work a description was given of "Sacculina galathece n. ; on Galathea intermedia from Plymouth. According to Smith ('06) Lernceodiscus galathece occurs as well on Galathea dispersa (at Naples) as on Galathea intermedia (in Norway). His studies of the anatomy of the species were made on the neapolitan form. As my results, obtained from the study of the parasites of Galathea inter- media, agree closely with Smith's, I am convinced that really Lernceodiscus gala- thece may infest as well Galathea intermedia as G. dispersa. Especially the figure given by S mit h inalaterpaper (Smith/15,fig. 5) shows completely the same arrangement of the internal organs as fig. 9 d of the present paper. Guerin-Ganivet ('11) records speci- mens of Lernceodiscus galathece from the vi- cinity of the French coast which were found on Galathea intermedia and on G. dispersa. One of these was collected from a depth of 1710 m. Kollmann {'09 a) mentions the same parasite on G. intermedia and Par- thenopea as a parasite of Galathea dispersa. Whether or not the latter parasite is cor- rectly identified, cannot be conclu
