CORNFLOWERS (Centaurea Cyanus) These are also known as Bachelor's Buttons, Blue Bottle, Ragged Sailor, Bluet and sometimes as Ragged Robin, but which name belongs to one of the Lychnis and frequently re- sults in confusion. It is always best to order by the botanical names. They are well known to every flower lover and always included in old-fashioned gardens. They usually re-seed them- selves, coming up year after year. A bunch of the blue sorts, with a few yellow Calliopsis, Marigolds, Calendulas or Califor- nia Poppies, make a very rich combination. PER PKT, 1876 Single Blue. The favorite dark-blue sort so much in demand for cutting. Per oz., 40 cts 5 1880 — Mixed. Blue, white, rose, etc. Per oz., 30 cts. 5 1881 Double Blue. This was introduced by us in 1907, and is now a standard variety and largely used by the commercial florist, who quickly recognized its value as a cut flower. It is identical in color to the popular single blue variety, which is so much in demand for cutting, especially for buttonieres, but, being a full, double flower, it takes fewer of them to make a nice bunch, and it is better in every way. ^ oz., 50 cts. 15 1882 Double Rose Pink. A splendid variety for cutting; color clear rose-pink. |^ oz., 50 cts 15 1883 Double White. Densely double pure white flowers. 15 1890 Double=flowered Mixed.
