The Jewish community of Rome and the community of Sant'Egidio, as every year since 1994, held a silent march to remember the deportation of the Jews of Rome, 70 years after 16 October 1943, to the concentration camp of Auschwitz in Rome, Italy on October 15, 2016. On 16 October 1943, during the Nazi occupation of Rome, more than 1,000 Roman Jews were caught and deported to the concentration camp of Auschwitz.
