The garden is based on 'De Musica Mundana’ by the 17th century cosmologist, Robert Fludd. It features a 7ft-diameter satellite image inflatable helium earth globe, Sequoiadendron giganteum up to five metres tall grow from the charcoal remains of the fire needed to propagate them, while wind turbine models carrying climbers into the air, and there is a circular pool of water. It explores various types of earth – sand, clay, chalk and peat – as growing media, and highlights the complexity and delicacy of the balance in which the world’s component parts exist.
