A window display of raw herbs in storage jars at Bizzarri on Via della Condotta in Florence in the Tuscany region of Italy. Bizzarri with its original facade is a very traditional apothecary which is becoming a very rare sight these days. The shop’s interior is crammed with colourful jars, bottles and flasks of all shapes and sizes in original wooden wall cabinets. It is indeed a time-warp owned by Dr. Alessandro Bizzarri who is carrying on the business that has been in his family for generations. It specialises in preparing and mixing artist’s powered pigments into oils, raisins and acids for many of Florence’s art studios and in restoration work. Also, rare spices and herbs.
