True little-leaf, which affects many kinds of trees, is nonparasitic and may be cured by the application of zinc. The method of spraying with zinc sulfate in the dormant seasons, as recommended for apples (p. 21), gives satisfactory control. Good results have also been obtained by driv- ing small pieces of galvanized iron into the bark.
