Adam and William HoUiday were brothers.* They emigrated tothis country from the north of Ireland in the year IToO, and settledin Ijancaster county in this State. From there they moved to Frank-lin county and settled on the banks of the Conococheague. They. served in the wars the French and Indians, of 1755-6 and of1762-3. Adam was a lieutenant under Col. Armstrong, and accom-panied him on his expedition over the mountains to destroy the In- dian town of Kittanning.
