In 1872, on the site of the former Church of the Nativity of Christ, a chapel was solemnly laid in the name of the holy foremost apostles Peter and Paul. Its construction took thirteen years. In 1885 it was consecrated and assigned to the city cathedral. In the thirties of the XX century, the building was completely destroyed. In 1998, a decision was made to restore the object. The chapel took on its modern appearance at the beginning of the 21st century. Since 2012, the church has been given the status of a "temple-chapel", and the first liturgy was held here.
