An-other authority says that in 1875 a third jail buildingwas erected, built of stone, and that this with thesheriffs residence attached, built of brick, cost twelvethousand dollars. That nearly eight thousand dollarsshould be laid out for a jail in 1864 and twelve thou-sand in 1875 does not look quite probable. In 1894was built the present massive and imposing courthouse, of gray stone, costing eighty-five thousanddollars. M. J. Holtzman, Auditor. PULASKI The first courthouse was a framebuilding erected atWinamac about1841. One of brickwas afterwardsbuilt, and bothcourt house and jailin 1876 were con-sidered substantial structures.
