Rodent X-ray. This X-ray is from a collection dating from the period 1901-1918, consisting of X-rays produced by pioneering British radiographer Walter Augustus Coldwell (1864-1929). Coldwell originally ran an X-ray examination practice for London chemists Allen and Hanbury from around 1896, before establishing his own radiographic service in 1906. Typical X-ray examinations would have been for diagnosing bone fractures, joint dislocations, and detecting foreign objects (needles, bullets, swallowed coins).
