New Year's greetings are written in Chinatown in New York on January 29, 2011 at the Lunar New Year Flower Market. The market is set up just before Chinese New Year to sell flowers and food to local residents and visitors to Chinatown. February 3, 2011 marks the first day of the Year of the Rabbit and flowers are reputed to bring luck and prosperity in the New Year. People hang the New Year's greetings on walls and doorways in their homes. Gong Hai Fat Choi! (© Frances M. Roberts)
