Pavel Tretyakov, Russian art patron, collector and gallery founder, 1865. Tretyakov (1832-1898) amassed a fortune in business, using it to build up an impressive art collection and founding the Moscow art gallery that bears his name to house it. By 1890 150,000 people visited the gallery annually. Found in the collection of the State Tretiakov Gallery, Moscow.
