Tyrannosaurus rex teeth tooth fossil. Tyrannosaurus rex (T. rex) was a carnivorous dinosaur that lived during the Upper Cretaceous period, 68 to 66 million years ago. Complete skulls and skeletal remains from around 20 individuals have been discovered, allowing for detailed scientific reconstructions. Tyrannosaurus rex had approximately 60 robust serrated teeth that were wide and dull. It used them to pierce and grip flesh, throwing prey into the air and swallowing it whole. The size of a tooth could be up to 13 centimetres long. Found in North Dakota, USA.
