Access for Disabled People into the Water System in Tel Megiddo

Tel Megiddo, mentioned also in the New Testament as Armageddon, is a city that was an important point on the road between Egypt and Assyria. The site is located between the Carmel ridge and Yezreel (Jezreel) Valley and was inhabited from approximately 7000 BC to 586 BC and today serves as a Museum for this period. The image shows the wheelchair elevator that was designed to make places like the water system in Megiddo more accessible to disabled people. The stairs are leading to the tunnel that was designed to supply the city with water from a nearby spring. It is believed that the works on the water system started during the reign of King Solomon but the complete and more elaborate system is attributed to King Ahab
