The patient was examined at thistime, by the house surgeon, Dr. Evers, who recorded, that there wasslight distension, limited to the epigastric region, and a markedly tym-panitic note over the stomach area. The distension and pain both in-creased, being relieved only temporarily, by loosening the hours after operation, the patient vomited, for the first iime,a large quantity of a dark yellow fluid.
