EXTENSIÓN ROD.—To facilítate the distribution of the mixture on high growing plants the nozzles may be placed upon the end of a hollow rod, the lower end of which is attached to the hose. It is rarely advisable to have this rod more than fifteen feet in length. The rod may be of % inch pipe, but a better one is of. bamboo through the center of which extends a small brass rod. The bamboo rod is lighter and affords a better grip. OUT-OFF VAL VES—There should be a valve at the bottom of the extensión rod to prevent loss of mixture while passing from.
