Unintentially humorous sign at the Bousra Falls forest reserve in Mondulkiri province, northeast Cambodia

Human urine is the least of the problems confronting Cambodian forests. The 'dry tropical' monsoonal forests of northeast Cambodia are being cleared and degraded at an alarming rate. Forest reserves appear to exist only on paper, as 'protected' forests are cleared for cashew or rubber plantations, or stripped of prized timbers like rosewood by illegal loggers.
