The pulpit was constructed after the architecture of formerdays, but was remodelled in 1844. The house has been severaltimes repainted, and was reshingled in 1855. A deep-toned bell was purchased in 1823, but which was un-fortunately cracked in 1839. It could be heard at a greater dis-tance than any church bell in the surrounding towns. The firstbell-ringer was Daniel Corser. The present bell was obtained in1839. SECOXD COXGEEGATIOXAL CHURCH. The Second Congregational Church was formed Sept. 26th,1804. Letters missive, by those desiring to be organized as a. Congregational Meeting-House, Fisherville. 18G0.] ECCLESIASTICAL HISTORY. 239 church, were sent to neighboring churches, and the council onthat day assembled at the residence of Mr. Paul Dodge, in thehouse now occupied by Henry Dodge. The churches representedwere,—Danbarton, Rev. Walter Harris ; Hopkinton, Rev. ; Salisbury, Rev. Thomas Worcester; Tamworth, Rev. ; Henniker, Rev. Moses Sawyer; Canterbury, Rev. ; Boscawen, First Church, Rev. Samuel Wood. The public exercises were held in the meeting-house in theafternoon. The exercises were,—an introductory prayer by Hidden; sermon, Rev. Mr. Harris; charge, Rev. Mr. Woodright hand of fellowship. Rev. Mr. Worcester; concluding prayer,Rev. Mr. Sawyer. Rev.
