The functional form of the dependence of salinity intrusion upon freshwater discharge is of special interest because a characteristic value of Uf in coastal plain estuaries is approximately 1 cm/s. It is apparent from Figure 6 that for the values of other parameters used, the length of salinity intrusion changes behavior in the.
