The house of Mr. Ross,the pioneer in this department in the country, which wasestablished in 1838, is still manufacturing and sending outimproved School Furniture from the city of Boston. Morerecently, similar establishments have been opened in NewYork, Buffalo, and other cities. The cuts which I am enabled here to present, have beenfurnished me by establishments in the threfe cities justnamed, and may be regarded as representing specimens oftheir work. Nos. 1
