Most of the rose growers are off crop at present, as they made tlieir big crop for the holidays and it will take sonic time to bring them back. Many retailors have been suggesting plants to tlieir customers, because of tlie scarcity of cut stock. A large use of artificial flowers is noticeable. Plant growers still have a fair supply of cyclamens, bego nias and primroses in assorted sizes. The heavy snow storms here did little damage; shi])meiits were delayed from five to ten hours and deliveries were late. The demand for carnations and roses is far greater than the supply. Carna- tions are of good (jiuility imd realize $10 per hundred for the best stock. Narcissi arrive in large quantities and are read- ily taken. Violets are in good demand and the supply is larger than at any jirevious time this season; the <piality is good in both single and double. Stevia is a ready seller at $.'?..?)() ])er hundred.
