A Styrian hand-and-a-half sword,circa 1580. Heavy,double-edged blade with brass-inlaid orb marks and "IHS" engraved on both sides. There is a deeply stamped smith's mark on each ricasso. Iron quillons and tapered pommel. Original leather-covered(somewhat loose)wooden grip. Blade partially stained and somewhat pitted at the point.
