A Navy EA-18G Growler pilot assigned to Electronic Attack Squadron 135 (VAQ-135) deplanes an EA-18G Growler at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, Oct. 30, 2018. Replacing Marine EA-6B Prowlers, the EA-18G Growlers bear advanced electronic warfare technology, allowing the Growlers to adapt to current threats within the Central Command area of responsibility. VAQ-135 is deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean
