Sculpture group on the northern wall of the four-scissors in the town hall on Dam Square in Amsterdam. In the middle of the Amsterdam city lag on a base. On her head the emperors crown and an eagle, in her hands the coat of arms of the city and a caduceus, to her feet two lions. To the left of her weapons from Burned Pancras (above) and Sybrant Valckenier (below); On the right the weapons of Jacob de Graeff (above) and Pieter Schaep (below). These four Amsterdam regents, all sons or cousins of the sitting mayors from the year 1648, laid the first stone of the town hall in the same year. On the base the inaugural text, which refers to the Peace of Munster and the firstest assignment. To the left of the base the river god (personification) from the IJ, including a ship's crown, fishing net, anchor and stir. On the right the river god (personification) of the Amstel, including a roeir belt, and aer hook, aquatic plants and a beaver - which refers to Dam-Building animal to Dam Square over the Amstel where the city is a name. The Vierschaar was a public court that was used by schout and aldermen only for pronouncing death sentences. Leged at the bottom right: XXIV.
