The Two Elvises pose with a police officer in the street at Bermondsey Street Festival 2010
Bermondsey Street in Bermondsey, south London, runs down from the former dock area just downstream of Tower Bridge to the parish church and Bermondsey market, where until 1995 goods sold were covered by the medieval law of marché ouvert, which meant that if stolen goods were sold openly there, the buyer became their lawful owner. Once a run-down and seldom visited area, Bermondsey Street is now a lively fashion area, and includes the fashion and textile museum founded by designer Zandra Rhodes (b 1940). She is also one of the supporters of the annual street festival there, which includes a fashion show. Last year's event coincided with her birthday and she was given a large pink cake. Among the various designs in the fashion show were those made together with the artist artist Andrew Logan.
